Where your documents live
FileIntell runs on your own computer. It reads documents directly from your folders and files them back into your own folders, on your Mac, your OneDrive, or your iCloud. The choice is yours.
We never receive your files
Your documents do not pass through JRICKSS, and they are not uploaded to any server we own or control. We cannot see them, and we do not store them anywhere.
How the AI reads a document
To recognize what a document is and who it belongs to, FileIntell sends it to an AI provider (Anthropic's Claude API) using your own API key. The path is simple: your computer to Anthropic and back. It never routes through us.
- You connect your own AI account, so the firm controls the relationship and the billing.
- Anthropic does not use API documents to train its models unless you explicitly opt in.
- API data is automatically deleted within 30 days on Anthropic's side.
- For stricter needs, a zero data retention agreement is available from Anthropic, where nothing is stored at all.
Being straight with you
FileIntell is not fully offline
The AI reading step uses the cloud, so a document does leave the computer to be classified, then comes right back. We say this plainly because a careful firm should know it. What matters is that the document only goes to your own AI account, never to us, and you can choose a zero retention agreement if you want nothing kept.
Built-in protections
Encrypted key storage
Your AI key is stored encrypted on your computer using the operating system's secure storage, not in plain text.
Social Security numbers stay private
FileIntell only keeps and shows the last four digits of an SSN. The full number is never written down or displayed.
Optional PIN lock
You can require a PIN to open the app, so a shared or unattended computer stays protected.
Signed and notarized by Apple
The Mac app is code-signed with a verified Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so your computer recognizes it as trusted software, not something unknown.
What we do not claim
We would rather be honest than oversell. FileIntell does not currently carry HIPAA or SOC 2 certification. If your firm handles matters that require those frameworks, the cleanest path is a zero retention agreement with your AI provider, and we are happy to walk you through it.
